Who we are

Mears Pharmacy and Morgan Drug are two locally owned independent pharmacies, both operated by Mears Pharmacy, LLC ("we," "us," "our"). Mears Pharmacy is located at 1050 Shepard Lane, Suite 1, Farmington, UT 84025. Morgan Drug is located at 109 N Commercial Street, Morgan, UT 84050.

Information we collect

When you fill a prescription, use our website, or sign up for delivery or text notifications, we may collect your name, phone number, email address, mailing or delivery address, and information related to your prescriptions and insurance. This website itself does not collect prescription details or health information. We ask that you never include prescription numbers or clinical details in anything you send us online.

How we use it

We use your information to fill and manage your prescriptions, coordinate delivery, respond to questions you send us, and, if you've opted in, send you status notifications by text message. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or lead generation. This website uses no analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or cookies.

Text message (SMS) notifications

If you opt in, we send text messages for two purposes: letting you know a prescription is ready for pickup, and letting you know the status of a home delivery (on its way, delivered, or unable to deliver). See our Terms of Service for the full program terms.

• Our text messages never include a medication name, dosage, prescriber, or diagnosis. They carry only a generic status update and, for delivery texts, an estimated time window.
• We only text patients who have affirmatively opted in. At the time you opt in, we tell you that standard SMS is not an encrypted channel and you confirm that you still want to receive texts. You can decline text notifications at any time and still receive full service by phone or in person.
• We keep an auditable record of when a patient opted in to texting, separate from clinical records.
• We use a third-party messaging platform to deliver these texts. That vendor only receives what's needed to send the message (your phone number and the generic message text). It never receives your medication or diagnosis information.
• Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply.

No mobile phone number or SMS opt-in information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We will not sell, share, or rent your SMS opt-in information to any third party for any reason other than to deliver the specific services associated with this program. We may share your personal data, including your SMS opt-in or consent status, with vendors that assist us in delivering messages — such as our messaging platform provider and mobile carriers — solely for that purpose.

How we protect your information

We limit access to patient information to staff who need it to do their jobs, and we work with vendors who agree to appropriate safeguards for any personal information they process on our behalf. Your protected health information, the clinical details tied to your prescriptions, is governed by our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, available at either pharmacy location.

Your choices

You can opt out of text notifications at any time by replying STOP to any message we send, or by asking a staff member at either location. Opting out does not affect your ability to fill prescriptions or use delivery. You'll simply be notified by phone or in person instead.
